Female Family's
Hermione
Hermione was the first sheep we bought, as our foundation from the now dispersed flock Beckside flock of Mike & Kate Sands, after winning the ewe lamb class at The Great Yorkshire Show 2002. She then went on to be Breed Champion there in 2003.
Hermione lambed her last in 2012 - triplets! She reared the ewe lamb, Greenhill Walnut, who has since gone on to be 1st Prize ewe Lamb at the Zwartbles National Show 2012 out of 21 forward, 1st Prize ewe Lamb Otley, and Any Other Breed Champion and Reserve Interbreed Champion Arthington. One Ram lamb was lost, the other is retained in case we decide to use him.
She bred consistently, and all her female progeny have been retained. She has produced rams including Greenhill Piccolo who was also the first Zwartbles sheep ever to meet the Queen!!
Her Grandsons are now doing the business - See Greenhill Ronaldo.
At the same time as we bought Hermione, we also bought another ewe lamb, Henrietta, she too bred consistently for us, and all our females go back to these two original ewes, with no other females bought and kept for breeding within the Greenhill Flock.
